Grease Trap Cleaning in Calgary That Stops Backups Before They Start
No overflow shutting down your Friday rush. No sour smell drifting into the dining room. Traps that last years longer instead of failing early. That is what a proper service buys you, and we document every visit so you can prove it.
No overflow flooding the kitchen floor in the middle of dinner service.
Your kitchen and dining room stay fresh, the way customers expect.
Proper service delays the cost of replacing a trap that failed too soon.
Reliability You Can Put on Paper
Trust in this business comes down to whether the work gets done right and whether you can prove it later. We are built around both.
Fewer Backups, Longer Trap Life
We remove everything, not just the surface layer. Clearing the buildup at the bottom is what actually keeps your drains flowing and your trap from failing early.
The Work Is Never Subcontracted
Your service is performed by Interceptor, not handed to a third party. Same standard, same documentation, every single visit.
Scheduled Around Your Kitchen
Early mornings and off-peak windows so service never collides with a shift. Your kitchen keeps running while we work.
Disposed at the Approved Facility
All waste goes to the City of Calgary approved treatment facility with a full manifest trail behind it. No shortcuts, no exposure.
The Bylaw Is Specific. Most Services Are Not.
If your kitchen cooks, prepares or processes food, the City of Calgary Wastewater Bylaw applies to you. These are the three requirements that get restaurants fined.
Grease interceptors must be serviced at least once every four weeks.
Proper servicing means removing the entire contents of the trap, not skimming the surface layer.
Records of every cleaning, maintenance and inspection must be kept on file and available.
Non-compliance is expensive. Blocked lines, sewer backups, fines and in serious cases closure orders. Our service is built around these three requirements so your kitchen never has to think about them.
The Same Thorough Service, Every Single Visit
Four steps, same order, documented the same way. Here is what each one does for you.
Cleared Right to the Bottom
We take out everything, including the settled solids cheaper services leave behind. That is what keeps the trap from filling back up in half the time.
Inlet Line Cleared
We clear the inlet line every visit, no upcharge. Buildup in that line is exactly what causes the backup that floods your floor during a Friday rush.
Trap Inspected
Baffles and components get checked while the trap is empty. If something is wearing out, you hear it from us early, not as a 9pm emergency.
Documented and Filed
You get a completed E-2228 manifest and timestamped photos, filed in your compliance record and ready the moment an inspector asks.
A cheap service skims the surface. Then your drains back up mid-service.
Manifest and Photos on Every Visit, or That Visit Is Free
Your compliance record is only as good as its weakest entry. If we ever complete a service without delivering the E-2228 manifest and timestamped photos, you do not pay for that visit. In writing, on every service agreement.

Grease Trap Questions, Answered Straight
How often does Calgary require grease trap cleaning?
Bylaw 14M2012 requires grease interceptors to be serviced at least once every four weeks. Proper servicing means removing 100% of the contents, cleaning the interceptor and inspecting its components. High-volume kitchens can hit the 25% capacity threshold even sooner.
What records does my restaurant need to keep?
The City requires records of every cleaning, maintenance and inspection for the past two years. We build and maintain that compliance file for every client, so when an inspector asks, the answer is one phone call away.
What documentation do I get with every service?
A completed E-2228 manifest and timestamped photos of your trap, on every visit, filed in your compliance record. If a visit is ever completed without them, that visit is free.
Why does it matter how much of the trap gets cleaned?
Because a surface skim leaves the settled solids at the bottom, so the trap fills back up in a fraction of the time, the smell returns sooner, and you are far more likely to see a backup. We clear the trap completely every visit, which is also what the bylaw requires. You get longer intervals between issues and a trap that lasts.
Do you replace or install grease traps?
Yes. We replace failing or undersized traps and install CSA-approved units as permitted work, sized correctly so they pass City of Calgary inspection the first time.
Will service interrupt my kitchen?
No. We schedule around your hours, including early mornings and off-peak windows, so your kitchen keeps running while we work.
